The Directorate of Emergency Serves held a Law Enforcement Wreath Laying Ceremony during National Police Week, May 14, 2021, at Fort Hamilton, N.Y. National Police Week was established by Congress in 1962 to honor members of law enforcement who lost their lives in the line of duty.
“It’s important for us to take a moment of our day and recognize those in the law enforcement profession that have perished,” said Michael Canter, Director of DES.
