    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Ray Fish was recently selected as the 2021 SWL Engineer of the Year for the Little Rock District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Fish is a registered professional electrical engineer in the state of Arkansas, a member of the Arkansas Academy of Electrical Engineers, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and the International Society for Automation.

    His extensive electrical design and automation skills have been invaluable to SWL for several years. Most recently, he was instrumental to the coordination and execution of numerous SWL FY 20 Flood Supplemental projects along the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System.

    "We are grateful to have him on the Operations Team and thank him for his dedication and service to the ongoing success of the Little Rock District Navigation Mission," said Gregory Mattson, deputy chief of operations for the Little Rock District. According to Mattson, Fish went above and beyond his normal duties to ensure that the locks and dams along the MKARNS were modernized and outfitted with optimized electrical control and communication equipment.

    "Fish’s technical expertise and excellent coordination skills ensure that the locks and dams along the MKARNS will be ready for the next 50 years of service."
