U.S. Air Force Col. Ronald Llantada took command of the 33rd Maintenance Group during an assumption of command ceremony June 10, 2021 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.
Llantada transitioned to the 33rd MXG after previously serving at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, where he was the Chief of Inspections Division, Directorate of the Inspector General, Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command.
Llantada has also served as the advisor to commander for the Royal Saudi Air Force, and as Chief, Air Force Division, United States Military Training Mission, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

“Col. Llantada, you are joining a team of problem solvers who simply refuse to fail,” said Wheeler. “This
is a truly outstanding team.”

“The right balance between people development and mission execution with safe, reliable aircraft will be my priority,” said Llantada. “That will continue to be our Maintenance Group focus to develop and retain multi-capable, professional Airmen, remain relevant in today’s and tomorrow’s Air Force and accelerate change to posture our Airmen for success during a high-end fight.”
After his remarks, Llantada received his first salute as commander from Lt. Col.Edward Romero, 33 Maintenance Group deputy commander, becoming the 33rd MXG newest commander.
“I am truly humbled and honored, and I promise you and our Airmen, that I will not take this privilege
