U.S. Air Force Col. Adam R. “Digger” DiGerolamo assumed command of the 35th Maintenance Group during the 35th MXG assumption of command ceremony at Misawa Air Base, Japan, June 23, 2021.
As the commander of the 35th MXG, DiGerolamo is responsible for 1,100 aircraft maintenance personnel who perform maintenance on dozens of F-16CM aircraft valued at $1.4 billion, an Operations and Maintenance budget of over $1 million, a $200 million equipment account, and the daily operations of Pacific Air Force’s Centralized Engine Repair Facility.
Prior to DiGerolamo assuming command of the 35th MXG, he served as Air Force Global Strike Command’s combat aircraft division chief, at Barksdale Air Force Base, La.
”Ultimately, Digger, you have a lot of experience and are very credible in your tradecraft of leading maintainers to mission success,” said Col. Jesse J. Friedel, 35th Fighter Wing commander. “We expect nothing different will be observed here at Misawa AB… I am confident the 35th MXG is in outstanding hands. You will lead this dedicated organization to even greater heights as we advance our Agile Combat Employment execution.”
The 35th Maintenance Group contains the 35th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and the 35th Maintenance Squadron, who perform all field level maintenance activities for the 35th Fighter Wing’s F-16CM aircraft, engines, munitions, and support equipment; living up to their mission statement of “Safe-Reliable-Aircraft.”
“To the men and women of the 35th Maintenance Group, we’re going to go through our own challenges together, but I’m confident we’ll go through way more successes,” said DiGerolamo. “That’s what makes the Air Force great... It forces us to take on the challenges that the Air Force needs us to take on and make it work, all the while making us stronger for it.”
