NAS JRB NEW ORLEANS. (June 26, 2021) - U.S. Navy Rear Adm. James Butler, Commander, Naval Information Force Reserve, came to Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans, June 26, 2021 to see the newest Joint Reserve Intelligence Center (JRIC) New Orleans (NOLA).

After a morning of briefings, Butler took a tour of JRIC NOLA to understand firsthand why it is a venue for advanced warfighter training and exercise support.

"I am extremely impressed by this facility and especially what this small JRIC staff has been able to accomplish in a Covid-19 environment,” Butler said. “Managing a $15 million dollar MILCON budget for renovations and upgrades, what they’ve achieved is nothing short of incredible!”

JRIC NOLA Hosts over 22,000 sq ft of classified workspace and the ability to handle multiple classified networks thanks to the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Joint Reserve Intelligence Program (JRIP). It is also one of nine Navy operated JRICs that services twelve Navy Reserve Units and seventeen Navy Operational Support Centers (NOSCs) across seven states.
The facility also includes critical infrastructure that during an emergency will provide redundant capabilities for continued operational support in degraded or extreme environments.

According to Lt. Cmdr. Caroline Seider, JRIC NOLA OIC, the most important thing JRIC NOLA is doing is providing support to the Reserve Information Warfare (IW) community.

"JRIC NOLA is providing the capacity and capability to build a more lethal and better connected cadre of Reserve IW Professionals who are ready to fight on day one.”
Due to past Covid-19 restrictions an official JRIC NOLA Ribbon Cutting Ceremony has been tentatively set for January 2022.
