10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) get improved communications and mobility

FORT CARSON, Colorado - Green Berets assigned to 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Carson, are scheduled to receive a new lightweight flexible communication system and improved mobility vehicles. This fielding of the newly upgraded and improved MRZR D4 turbo diesel and Polaris Ranger Search and Rescue all-terrain vehicles will immensely improve many of the Operational Detachment Alpha group's capabilities.
The United States Army Special Operations Command (Airborne) USASOC worked with Polaris, Darley Defense and INVISIO to improve 10th Groups mobility, communications, safety and effectiveness. INVISIO offers personal communication and hearing protection systems these systems enable users to operate and communicate in any environment. The INVISIO communication system works with all-terrain vehicles, passenger vehicles, fixed and rotary winged aircraft, and maritime vessels and then can easily transition to individual Soldier packs. The INVISIO communication system also integrates with joint operations. This technological enhancement and mobility will allow 10th Group to dominate missions.
“INVISIO works with communication equipment and vehicle manufactures to ensure optimal performance across multiple devices and platforms” said Nicholas Lafferty, Vice President of Mobility, INVISIO.
The MRZR and Ranger now come with the INVISIO body worn system which uses the intercom system pack. These systems come with enhanced communication headsets to include hearing protection, proprietary digital sound and speech, simple button controls, easily integrates with multiple systems and uses high security standards. The most enhanced and innovative advantage of these systems are the seamless disassembly from a vehicle-mounted system to user portable. This can reduce vehicle weight up to 80 percent resulting in; increased internal vehicle space, allows for more carrying weight and increases fuel efficiency.
“INVISIO’s body worn systems provide market leading capability in a small, lightweight and simple to use products” said Lafferty.
INVISIO provides all the necessary tools and training to ensure mission operational success. They also developed remote troubleshooting and system diagnostics to quickly and more efficiently fix any issues.
The new MRZR is even more agile and mobile. The MRZR uses a tool-less collapsing roll-cage, a modular cargo bed, electronic power steering, increased range and fuel efficiency, on-demand true all-wheel drive, and four-point harness seat belts.
The new Polaris Ranger, search and rescue, comes with vehicle improvements, spotlights for night searches, and a rear medical station. The new medical station uses a hinged cargo bed that lowers at an angle to allow easy and safe loading and unloading of patients.
The acquisition of these advanced products and systems will undoubtably enhance and multiply 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) Green Berets ability to conduct and complete any mission in any kind of environment.
