HOHENFELS TRAINING AREA, GERMANY — Soldiers from 15 Army organizations across Europe and Africa will compete for the title of ‘Best Warrior’ Aug. 6-12 at Hohenfels and Grafenwöhr training areas.
The six-day event challenges competitors to overcome an extensive set of tasks and missions designed to test their warfighting knowledge, physical fitness and battlefield skills.
At the conclusion of the annual U.S. Army Europe and Africa Best Warrior Competition, winners are named from the top three categories – Soldier, officer and noncommissioned officer.
Competitors for the ‘best’ Soldier include the ranks of private through specialist, and NCO includes corporal through sergeant first class. Additionally, U.S. Army Europe and Africa has a category for officer to highlight lieutenants, captains and warrant officers.
The awards ceremony will be broadcast live at https://www.facebook.com/USArmyEURAF on Aug. 12 at 1 p.m. Central European Time.
Winners of the best Soldier and NCO categories will go on to compete at the U.S. Army Best Warrior Competition.
U.S. Army Europe and Africa leaders will ensure mitigation and prevention measures are in place for the safety and health of our team members throughout the competition.
