Camp Virginia, Kuwait " The United States Ambassador to Kuwait Richard LeBaron passed out calling cards Dec. 10 to Virginia Army National Guardsmen deployed here.
A local real estate firm in Kilmarnock, Va., donated 250 pre-paid telephone calling cards to U.S. troops stationed in Kuwait. The company donated the cards in an attempt to help Soldiers keep in touch with their families during the holiday season.
The firm raised money for the calling cards through yard sales and donations made by the people of River Towne.
"It is always good to receive support back home," said Capt. Robin Branch, 183rd Personnel Service Detachment commander. "It shows that we are not forgotten."
Soldiers of the 183rd PSD from Richmond, Va. have been stationed here
since Feb. 1 supporting Coalition Forces Land Component Command. The unit performs personnel services support for Soldiers in the CFLCC area of responsibility. They also process Soldiers entering and departing the country. The 183rd will be returning home early next year.
"Everybody is excited about the return back home," said Sgt. First Class Corey E. Taylor, detachment noncommissioned officer in charge. "They greatly appreciate the donations and support we have received from back home during this deployment."
