The 41st Rescue Squadron invited members from the 23rd Contracting and Comptroller Squadrons to an HH-60W Jolly Green II orientation flight to acknowledge their completion of the end of fiscal year budget at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, Oct. 4, 2021.
Moody was the only Air Combat Command base to receive Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (AFIMSC) fall-out money this fiscal year so that units can continue to attack, rescue, and prevail to win today’s fight.
“They help make the mission happen behind the scenes,” said Capt. Jesse Van-Horn, 41st RQS HH-60W copilot. “Because they do their part, we have the aircraft that we need and we have the hours we need to fly to (reach) this level of proficiency. They get to see all the aspects of their work at once with the incentive flights.”
Some of the 23rd CONS and 23rd CPTS end of fiscal year (EOFY) highlights include:
Executed 336 total fiscal year 2021 contract actions worth $29.8M
$23.8M(80%) went to small businesses which continues to help Moody build positive relationships with the community
$12.1M awarded in the final quarter -- 40% of the annual workload
Implemented Moody’s 1st Expanded Use of the Government Purchase Card(GPC) Program; executed $1.5M transactions in first year, increased wing rebate by 11% and saved 1.5K man hours
Enabled nearly 300 GPC card holders to spend an additional $14M on over 10K transactions
#1 Obligated Wing in ACC – helped secure $1.7M of fall out in the final week
Rated #1/13 of ACC CONS based on Air Force Installation Contracting Center’s TEAMS Metrics Dashboard
1st in ACC to operationalize Field Ordering Officer Program providing Moody with a unique capability that enhances the Lead Wing capability as the base moves toward Initial Operational Capability in Oct ‘22
“This was a huge testament of our ability to show AFIMSC that we stood ready to execute as money was being sent out,” said Maj. Christopher Cook, 23rd CPTS commander. “We spent many late nights over the past couple weeks getting the stage prepared, and our team approach with 23rd CONS and resource advisors brought it all together to make the goodness happen.”
