JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C.—
U.S. Air Force Col. Marc Greene, 628th Air Base Wing and Joint Base Charleston commander, was honored during a council meeting at Charleston City Hall, South Carolina, Oct. 12, 2021.
John Tecklenburg, Mayor of Charleston, presented Greene with a Proclamation honoring the actions of JB Charleston Airmen during the Afghanistan evacuations. During the efforts, crews evacuated approximately 124,000 refugees and Americans due to the swift response from JB Charleston Airmen.
Greene accepted the honor on behalf of JB Charleston leaders, Airmen and Mission Partners.
“It’s an honor to serve this nation and be a part of this community,” Greene said. “The members of the 628th, 315th and 437th are thrilled for your appreciation and recognition.”
