The Pennsylvania National Guard’s 28th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade held a change of responsibility ceremony at Muir Army Airfield here, Nov. 6, 2021, where they welcomed a new command chief warrant officer.
Family, friends and fellow Soldiers joined the 28th ECAB in bidding farewell to outgoing command chief warrant officer, Chief Warrant Officer 5 Chuck Doyno, and welcoming Chief Warrant Officer 5 Rich Adams as the new command chief warrant officer. Lt. Col. Michael Girvin, commander of the 28th ECAB, presided over the ceremony.
Adams takes over after serving as the brigade’s aviation mission survivability officer during their deployment to the Middle East in support of Operations Spartan Shield and Inherent Resolve.
“As much as I love my family, I feel like my family has grown by one combat aviation brigade,” said Adams.
Doyno is moving on to serve under the Pa. Guard’s State Army Aviation Officer.
“It’s been an honor and a privilege to serve as the ECAB CCWO for the last six years,” said Doyno. “This position has been, at times, challenging as this position only exists in the aviation brigade and at Joint Force Headquarters at the state level. Having said that, I have been fortunate to work for and be led by some great brigade commanders.”
As the command chief warrant officer, Adams will serve as the primary advisor to the commander on all matters relating to warrant officers within the 28th ECAB.
