Chief Master Sgt. Robert Griffith, U.S. Air Force Headquarters logistics plans and unit deployment manager and career field manager, visited Team Kirtland to speak at the Officer Professional Development meeting on Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M., Nov. 5, 2021.
During his visit, Griffith briefed senior enlisted and officers on the new Air Force Force Generation (AFFORGEN) model, which explains to Airmen how to balance today’s combatant commanders needs while ensuring mission readiness.
Griffith spoke to Airmen about the model and its alignment with Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Charles Brown Jr.’s “Accelerate Change or Lose” priorities, and outlined the changes that will be made and how they will effect Airmen and installations in the future.
“The model will be the new deployment model,” said Griffith. “As we go into fiscal year 23 and 24, we are going to be changing the way we present forces to the Joint Staff into a more deliberate matter.”
AFFORGEN is now in its final phases and is projected to be operating in fiscal year 2023.
