FORT KNOX, Ky. – Members of the Fort Knox community enjoyed a home-cooked Thanksgiving meal Nov. 24, personally served by installation leaders.
Commanding general of U.S. Army Cadet Command and Fort Knox Maj. Gen. Johnny Davis and his senior enlisted advisor, Command Sgt. Maj. Jerimiah Gan, together with Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. William Fogle wished Soldiers, Family members and civilians a happy Thanksgiving as they dished out a variety of menu items at the annual event.
“For me this is very special,” said Davis. “I remember going through the chow hall [years ago] and you would see the commanding general, but I never thought 30 years later that I would be that guy. It’s just such a special feeling serving our troops.”
The meal, served at Cantigny Dining Facility, consisted of roast turkey, ham, prime rib, dressing, a fresh garden salad bar, and variety of sides and deserts.
