The 841st Transportation Battalion conducted vessel offloading operations in support of the V Corps at Joint Base Charleston, S.C., Nov. 24.
The V Corps, also known as the “Victory” Corps and the Fifth Corps, was activated less than 12 months ago at Fort Knox, Ky., and is now the U.S. Army’s fourth corps. The unit has a forward headquarters in Poznan, Poland.
The successful redeployment was a historical milestone because it demonstrated that the unit is fully operationally capable, according to Gen. Michael Garrett, commanding general, U.S. Army Forces Command.
The Army's other operational corps are I Corps (America’s Corps) at Joint Base Lewis- McChord, Wash.; III Corps (Phantom Corps) at Fort Hood, Texas; and XVIII Airborne Corps (Sky Dragons) at Fort Bragg, N.C.
