Participants are shown Nov. 17, 2021, during the USO Wisconsin’s Hike and Hunt event at Pine View Campground and Pine View Recreation Area at Fort McCoy, Wis.
The event included a presentation by a Fort McCoy natural resources specialist from the Directorate of Public Works Environmental Division Natural Resources Branch and a hike to “hunt” for things found in the forest.
In addition to USO and natural resources personnel, people with the Directorate of Emergency Services Police Department also participated.
For five years, USO Wisconsin has continued to expand its presence and support for thousands of service members, families, military retirees, and others every year at Fort McCoy, said Elizabeth Hazlett, operations and program manager for USO Wisconsin.
“Each month, military members and their families can take part in several events offered by the USO — whether virtual programs or in-person events,” Hazlett said. “Seasonally, we offer at least one family event."
