Hospitals in Wiesbaden will reintroduce a ban on visitation starting on 3 December
The Wiesbaden acute care and rehabilitation clinics are forced to return to the visit ban in view of the renewed increase in the number of infections in the population.
This step, decided in consultation with the health authority and the health department, is necessary to protect patients and staff from additional risks due to virus entering the area through visitors. The hospitals ask the population for understanding and support to jointly contain the spread of the pandemic.
The visit ban will go into effect on Friday, Dec. 3, lasting initially for six weeks. Excluded from the visitation ban are:
• one accompanying person per minor child
• one person of trust at birth and per day during the mother's inpatient stay
• one person to support communication and translation
• a person whose stay is reasonable and necessary from a medical point of view, for example, in unique situations of life, such as information about a serious diagnosis, a particularly stressful therapy or to accompany close relatives in the dying process
• Supervisors, pastors, registrars, lawyers, notaries and undertakers.
Medically justified exemptions are discussed with the treating physicians.
