What do former President Bill Clinton, former President George W. Bush, Al Pacino and Dr. Phil all have in common? Maybe not all that much except the fact their voices could be heard coming from the mouth of comedian and impressionist Frank Caliendo at Luke Air Force Base, Ariz., Nov. 4.

Caliendo, who may be best known for his spot-on impression of football commentator John Madden, performed for more than 500 Luke Airmen and family members while being taped for a special segment of the FOX NFL Sunday pregame show on which he appears weekly.

"It was a great performance," said Tech. Sgt. Bryan Ebersole, 944th Medical Squadron medical technician. "It's a good thing he is doing for the military and recognizing the jobs everybody does out here at Luke. Anytime anyone can do impressions like he can, it's amazing and he does them so well."

Caliendo, who currently resides in Tempe, Ariz., said he had a great time performing at Luke.

"The military are so appreciative," he said. "If there is a group of people that are overlooked, it is the Soldiers, the Airmen, all of our people fighting for us. Once you have kids, you start to understand how important everybody is."

Not only did Caliendo perform some of his original comedy after the taping was through, he stayed at the venue until every single Airman who wanted to shake his hand or have their photo taken with him had their chance.

"You don't know how much you can change somebody's life," Caliendo said. "When I think about Adam Sandler or other comedians, there are a lot of people overseas fighting and they need (funny) stuff like that to get through some of the days. It's important."

Caliendo remarked how welcoming the Luke community is, and how nice it was to see the camaraderie of the Airmen.

"I thought the show was great," said Airman 1st Class Alan Voisine, 56th Communications Squadron computer systems control. "I believe it's awesome people just take time out of their busy schedules to do something for the military for nothing."

The taping shot at Luke will appear during the FOX NFL Sunday pregame show, which is broadcasting from Afghanistan, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST Nov. 8.
