This season, a generous group of volunteers with Military Sealift Command Office Korea helped make the holidays a bit merrier for current residents at Miewon Orphanage.
Active duty and reserve service members, civilian employees and civil service mariners voluntarily donated toys and food to the youngsters at the orphanage. It’s become a tradition for the MSCO Korea team.
“We’ve conducted the toy drive for the last few years,” said Cmdr. Mike Borszich, commanding officer.
“Those who volunteer to donate to this effort say it makes their season happier, knowing they’ve brought some joy to these kids.”
As part of Military Sealift Command Far East, the office in Korea helps ensure approximately 50 ships in the Indo-Pacific region, are manned, trained and equipped to deliver essential supplies, fuel, cargo and equipment to warfighters, both at sea and on shore.
