Kids and teens were encouraged to bring out their electric scooters, ATVs, and even hover boards to take part in an Electric Rodeo safety course in mid-January by U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground Police Department.
Attendance was "outstanding," said Sgt. David Thompson.
Kids as young as two-years-old to 14-years-old spent the afternoon with officers learning basic traffic laws like stopping at stop signs, what yield signs mean, using the right side of the road, hand signals, right-of-way, and avoiding road hazards.
