New Corona rules in Wiesbaden
Starting on Saturday, April 2, new Corona rules apply in Hessen - and thus also in Wiesbaden. The administrative staff of the state capital decided on Wednesday, March 30, to adjust the city's Corona rules starting on Monday, April 4.
The obligation to wear a medical mask in administrative offices of the city with high public traffic will be extended until Easter Monday, Apr. 18, due to the continued high risk of infection. Offices with high public traffic include the citizens' offices, the registry offices, the vehicle registration offices and the local government offices. Even after Apr. 18, it is strongly recommended to wear a medical mask in all areas of municipal buildings as long as infection levels are high. Restrictions on the maximum number of attendants in civic buildings and meeting rooms will be lifted. The event organizer is responsible for the hygiene measures. The respective department decides on participant restrictions and the obligation to wear masks at municipal events, as this also depends on the type of event, the participants and the size of the room. Citizens are asked to check online at wiesbaden.de about the current Corona rules before visiting a municipal event.
The mattiaqua public swimming pools and thermal baths will lift their restrictions on starting on Monday, Apr. 4. Mask obligation and hygiene concepts will be dropped.
Furthermore, the requirements of the state Hessen will apply in Wiesbaden starting Saturday, Apr. 2. This means that masks will be mandatory in doctors' offices and hospitals (not for inpatients in hospitals), in old people's and nursing homes, for care and rescue services, on buses and trains (local and long-distance public transport) and in collective accommodation such as shelters for the homeless and refugees.
Testing requirements also apply to employers, employees and visitors of hospitals, nursing homes and collective housing. Exceptions may be made by facility managers for vaccinated persons, recovered individuals and for socio-ethical reasons. Resident testing (especially in nursing homes) may be ordered by the responsible health department in the event of an outbreak. In schools, teachers and students continue to be tested at least three times a week as a rule. Prisons and detention centers for deportees can decide for themselves whether to impose testing obligations.
The previous obligations for isolation or quarantine remain in place based on the RKI recommendations.
