The 628th Security Forces Squadron celebrated their Defenders during National Police Week May 16 - 19 at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina.
National Police Week focuses on comradery, and serves to remember fallen military and local police officers who were lost in the line of duty.
“This week, the 628th SFS paid respect to the sacrifice of our brothers and sisters while strengthening the relationship we have with our local civilian law enforcement,” said Staff Sgt. Ashlee Pollard, 628th SFS military working dog handler.
The 628th SFS hosted a variety of events throughout the week, showcasing the capabilities of their Airmen and building partnerships with the base and local community.
Friends and family gathered as Airmen highlighted the military working dog, Combat Arms Training and Maintenance, and Raven sections of the 628th SFS through a series of displays and exhibits.
“For a Defender, seeing so many people participate in our Police Week was awesome,” said Pollard. “It really lets us know that our base populace supports us, and that's what military family is all about.”
