Program specialists from Marine Corps Community Services Headquarters Recreation Department participated in an orientation tour, assessing local recreation activities during a visit to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, June 8, 2022. During their visit, they toured Devil Dog Dare and received a demonstration from Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron-assigned Marines on the various forms of recreation the adventure course provides the installation’s service members.
Devil Dog Dare presents positive ways for service members to deal with stress while also delivering secondary results such as increasing unit cohesion, esprit de corps, morale, teamwork and communication. The Cherry Point course originated as a part of Operation Adrenaline Rush in 2015 to support the reintegration of service members returning from deployment. It remains in the local inventory as a resource to support unit teambuilding activities.
