U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Nathan Eubank, a meteorology and oceanography (METOC) analyst forecaster with Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron (H&HS), is the Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) New River’s Go-Getter of the month. Eubank, a Deer Park, Texas native, enlisted as an Aviation Operations Specialist in July 2018.

“I joined so that I could travel,” Eubank said. “College wasn’t really an option for me yet, so I was looking for a challenge.”

Eubank graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego in October 2018, later arriving at his schoolhouse in Biloxi, Mississippi, without expecting the pace of his career as he would be designated to train as a METOC analyst forecaster.

“I ended up being at the school house for approximately 54 weeks,” said Eubank. “I wasn’t prepared for it to be that long and for the pace to be the same as college-level classes, but it ended up being pretty fun and definitely paid off.”

After graduating from schooling on December 19, 2019, Eubank would carry his growing hard work ethic from the schoolhouse to the Fleet Marine Force in January 2020, arriving at his first and current duty station of H&HS Battalion, MCAS New River in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

“I felt a really big sense of accomplishment when it hit me that I was actually about to enter the fleet,” said Eubank, “I was glad to officially make it and excited to just get to work.”

Eubank’s efforts at work have resonated with his peers and staff, leading to him receiving the MCAS New River Go-Getter award of the month.

“Cpl. Eubank does a really good job at setting the example for new Marines coming to our shop and helping anyone in need,” said Cpl. Brittany Douglas, a METOC analyst forecaster with H&HS. “He shows up, does what he needs to do, and goes above and beyond every day.”

After being promoted to Cpl. in April 2022, Eubank continues to assist wherever needed. He continues to spread the traits of integrity, open-mindedness, and trust in the workplace and beyond.

“Do as much as you can to contribute to your team day in and out,” said Eubank. “Whether you think it or not, your hard work never goes unnoticed.”
