YORK, Pa. -- A Soldier with Headquarters Support Company, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 28th Infantry Division became an U.S. citizen during a naturalization ceremony June 16 in York, Pa.
Pfc. Sabentina Desmornes, who is originally from Haiti, joined more than 25 other individuals from over 18 countries for the ceremony, which took place at the York County Treasurer Administrative Center.
During the ceremony, the new citizens swore the Oath of Allegiance and recited the Pledge of Allegiance before being presented certificates of naturalization from Judge Michael W. Flannelly declaring them U.S. Citizens.
Desmornes was supported by several individuals from the HSC including her company commander and first sergeant.
