CAMP NATASHALEATHERNECK, Helmand province, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan — Celebrities held a concert for troops with Marine Expeditionary Brigade - Afghanistan, Nov. 24.

The concert was performed by Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band, with appearances by Kristy Swanson, Kevin Farley, Leeann Tweeden and Mykelti Williamson.

Before the event began, the celebrities held a meet and greet for service members aboard Camp Leatherneck where they signed autographs.

Music ranged from 70s rock to modern pop. Heads were bopping and arms were waved, as shouts came from the crowd. At times, the band encouraged crowd participation through singing and even bringing troops onstage to dance.

"We want to thank you for your service to our country," said Gary Sinise, the bass guitarist with the band. "You are not forgotten."

According to Sinise, 80 percent of his band's performances this year have been for the troops.
For the service members, the show brought a welcome change to their daily routine.

"I am so glad they came here," said Cpl. Rachelle Campbell, an administration clerk with MEB-Afghanistan. "They motivated us in this area where we don't have anything from the outside world."

"I liked the show a lot," said Army Pfc. Stacy Roberts, a psychological operations specialist with MEB-Afghanistan. "It was a nice change of pace."
