Soldiers and family members from the Security Force Assistance Command held a change of responsibility ceremony bidding farewell to Command Sgt. Maj. Reese W. Teakell and welcoming Command Sgt. Maj. Donald W. Ferguson at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Aug 2, 2022.

Command Sgt. Maj. Teakell took his experience from the Ranger Regiment, establishing the SFAC as a sustainable, all-volunteer force.

“Security Force Assistance Command 2020 is not the same as today, Command Sgt. Maj. Teakell achieved exceptional gains in personnel readiness ensuring Soldiers can lead, deploy and advise at any time or place when called upon,” said Maj. Gen. Donn H. Hill, commanding general of the Security Force Assistance Command.

The day was not only about Command Sgt. Maj. Teakell and his accomplishments while at the SFAC, but it was a day to welcome Command Sgt. Maj. Ferguson and his family as he assumes his new role.

Command Sgt. Maj. Teakell entrusted Command Sgt. Maj. Ferguson to continue to build upon the accomplishments and readiness of the SFAC.

“Donald, welcome to the team, you will have a good time with good people, I can't think of a better job for you to step into,” said Command Sgt. Maj. Teakell. “I look forward to seeing what you do here.”

The ceremony concluded with Command Sgt. Maj. Ferguson sharing his enthusiasm and commitment to individual readiness while serving as the SFAC’s senior enlisted Advisor.

“I'm truly honored to have been selected for this prestigious position, thank you for your willingness to welcome us into the SFAC family, I appreciate it,” said Command Sgt. Maj. Ferguson.
