CAMP HERO, Afghanistan — Representatives from hospitals across the six provinces in the Regional Command South area met at Kandahar Regional Military Hospital, Dec. 12.
It is the first time that members from each hospital had a group meeting.
The purpose of the meeting was to help each hospital better understand the capability of the others and determine how each can help each other in the future. It also gave administrators a chance to tour the new facilities at KRMH.
The representatives were happy to see the progress made by the hospital and how well the physicians work together.
"All the folks were really impressed by the infrastructure, the equipment, and the Afghan military surgeons and health providers," said British Maj. Graham Johnson, medical planner for RC South.
The biggest lesson learned from the meeting was that all the hospitals and administrators now have a better understanding of one another and will have a better working realationship in the future.
"Everyone moves from the day better informed and better aware of the capabilities we have," said Johnson, a native of Carlise, England. "It will make for a better working environment and we look forward to further meetings and enhancing our co-operated operations."
