POL-E CHARKHI, Afghanistan — Afghan national army soldiers from 3rd Company, 1st Battalion, 201st Corps, conducted several live-fire and tactical movement drills at in Pol-E-Charki, Afghanistan, Dec. 15.
The training was designed to hone the Soldiers proficiency with the M4. For contact with the enemy in the rough mountain terrain the commandos normally operate in, according to Afghan Lt. Col. Asadullah Kohistani, the battalion commander.
"We are always looking for new tactics, new weapons and new training on how to use them," Kohistani said. "We need to know these weapons, and continue training with them and practicing our tactics in order to be excellent Soldiers."
Some of the drills included basic marksmanship, moving while engaging the target, reactionary fire and engaging targets at long range. The Soldiers also practiced with anti-tank weaponry in addition to their standard M4 rifles.
