    Master Chief Plasencia is a native of Duncan, Oklahoma and joined the Navy 29 July 2000. After Basic Training in Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended Basic Enlisted Submarine School and Radio “A” school in New London, Connecticut. He reported to his first submarine, USS Pittsburgh (SSN 720), where he completed one CENTCOM deployment including strike operations in support of Iraqi Freedom, a SOUTHCOM deployment, and a change of homeport to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Kittery, ME for extended over haul. During this tour he completed qualifications through Diving Officer of the Watch and advancement to First Class Petty Officer.

    In 2006, he transferred to Naval Recruiting District New England where he was assigned as the Naval Special Warfare/Special Operations recruiting coordinator. He was selected to the rank of Chief Petty Officer in 2008.

    Upon his successful tour at NRD New England, he volunteered for GSA orders to Iraq in 2010. He was assigned to USF-I Iraq Task Force SAFE where he was the NCOIC of a joint task force. His duties included overseeing fire and electrical safety for the entire theater of Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn, directly reporting to Commanding General USF-I.

    In 2011, he transferred to USS Houston (SSN 713) and relieved as the Radio Chief and Navigation and Operations Department Senior Enlisted Advisor where he completed two Guam mission cycles, a Change of Homeport to Hawaii and a Western Pacific deployment.

    In October 2014, he was selected to be the Communications Assistance for COMSUBRON 7. During this tour he was advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer, attended Senior Enlisted Academy and qualified Chief of the Boat.

    In December 2017, he attended the CMC/COB course at Command Leadership School, Newport, RI and then reported in January 2018 to USS Olympia (SSN 717) in Pearl Harbor, HI as Chief of the Boat. He was advanced to Master Chief Petty Officer in May 2019. While onboard, USS Olympia completed several key fleet integration exercises to include a successful launch of a harpoon missile followed by a SINEX via ADCAP torpedo. USS Olympia also completed a successful round the world deployment engaging in several multinational exercises and operations in five AOR’s. In recognition of USS Olympia’s numerous accomplishments she was awarded COMSUBRON 7’s Battle efficiency award for 2019.

    CMDCM Plasencia is authorized to wear the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (Four awards), Joint Achievement Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (Seven awards) as well as numerous campaign and unit awards. He is also authorized to wear the US Army Gold Cavalry Spurs.
