    U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden   

    WIESBADEN, Germany – In a time-honored ceremony symbolizing the formal transfer of a unit’s authority and responsibility from one officer to another, a new command team assumed responsibility of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden, on Friday, Sept. 16, 2022.

    Surrounded by leaders, colleagues, family and friends – attending in person and virtually – Capt. Patrick Ledbetter and 1st Sgt. Delveto Johns assumed command of HHC, USAG Wiesbaden in a ceremony held at the Clay Kaserne Chapel.

    “The command team is truly the heartbeat and soul of that organization,” said USAG Wiesbaden Commander Col. David Mayfield, who hosted the ceremony.

    Mayfield went on to thank each spouse for their dedication and sacrifice in support of their Soldiers. ,

    Capt. Patrick Ledbetter is an Asheville, North Carolina native who was commissioned in 2017 as a Quartermaster Officer from East Tennessee State University where he graduated with a degree in Criminology.

    He has served in numerous duty assignments to include Supply Platoon Leader and later as the Battalion Maintenance Officer with Forward Support Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne); Forward Support Company Executive Officer, 2nd Battalion, 5th SFG. Prior to being assigned to U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden, CPT Ledbetter served as the logistics office for the 304th Expeditionary Signal Battalion-Enhanced at Camp Humphreys in the Republic of Korea.

    In addition to the U.S. Army Quartermaster Basic Officer Leader and Logistics Captains Career courses, he has also attended the Airborne and the Aerial Delivery Material Officer Schools.

    Capt. Ledbetter is married and this is his first assignment in Germany.

    Louisville, Kentucky native, and football player, 1st Sgt. Delveto M Johns graduated high school in 1997 and went on to play college football for Morehead State University in Morehead, KY., before enlisting in the U.S. Army as an Automated Logistics Specialist on Sept. 11, 2003.

    Throughout his almost 20-year career, 1st Sgt. Johns has served in many locations in the U.S. and overseas to include Camp Casey, Republic of Korea; Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington; Fort Knox, KY., and Eglin Air force Base, Florida. While assigned in locations around the U.S. and aboard, 1st Sgt. Johns has served in numerous duty positions such as Material Management non-commissioned officer in charge, platoon sergeant, as well as operations, senior plans and support operations NCOICs.

    In addition to attending U.S. Army basic, advanced and senior leader courses, Johns has also attended numerous U.S. Army schools and training courses such as the battle staff course, master fitness course, joint logistics course, Observer and Controller Academy and the U.S. Army Recruiter School.

    1st Sgt. Johns is married; he and his wife have five children. This is his first assignment to Germany.

    A reception and cake cutting to honor both Capt. Ledbetter and 1st Sgt. Johns was held at the Chapel following the ceremony.
