Logistics Specialist Seaman Izaziah Johnson is a logistics support representative for Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center Sigonella (NAVSUP FLCSI) Site Rota.
Johnson, from Denton, Texas, describes his daily duties as “providing logistical support to home port ships and transient ships.”
This logistical support also includes the on-loading of supplies and provisions for transient ships within the 5th and 6th Fleet areas of operation. Johnson has been in Rota since December 2019 and prior to working with the Fleet Assist Team, he served as a postal clerk here in Rota.
NAVSUP FLCSI Site Rota is Johnson’s first duty station with the Navy, and he’s enjoying his time here and with his command.
“Best thing about being stationed at this command is my team,” he said. “Having good people around you makes everything go smooth.”
Johnson’s hard work and dedication was recently recognized when he received a Flag Officer Commendation award and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal by Commodore Kenneth S. Pickard, commander of Task Force 63, during a visit in July 2022.
Johnson’s collateral duties include base communications officer, fire warden, and Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) representative.
In his free time, he enjoys sports and cooking. When asked what his favorite things about Spain were, he responded “definitely the weather and culture.”
