Air Force Reservists from the 507th Civil Engineer Squadron partnered with the 97th CES Fire Department to practice live fire training, Sept. 10, 2022, at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma. More than 25 reserve firefighters from Tinker AFB spent their Saturday at the live burn site with 97th CES fire department Airmen where they took turns putting out multiple propane fires. Propane fires were used during the training because of the easier ability to control and less heat production compared to other methods. Training such as this helps prepare firefighters for real world scenarios, and in the long run, help save lives.
