In March 2022, HAF/A4CX began development of the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) Strategic Plan 2022 and Beyond. The plan, meant to modernize firefighting effectiveness around the world, was published in late August and is intended to optimize F&ES by aligning with Department of the Air Force priorities and providing the career field with a roadmap to success.
F&ES Strategic Plan 2022 and Beyond focuses on five distinct Lines of Effort: 1) The Human Capital, 2) Reinvigorate the Flight, 3) Develop and Institutionalize Data Driven Decision Processes, 4) Revitalize Readiness in the Fire Flight, and 5) Modernize and Optimize F&ES Enterprise. The plan closely supports and builds upon the AF/A4 Basing and Logistics Enterprise Strategy (BLES) to foster innovation, build readiness, expand technical competence, and promote agility and critical thinking. As execution begins, input from throughout the F&ES enterprise will be sought at all levels to evaluate progress and grow the strategy to ensure success moving forward.
