Aloha! My name is Katie O’Rourke. I am the Ombudsman at NCTAMS PAC. My role as the Ombudsman allows me to be a link in the communication between command families and command leadership so we can bridge the gap and ensure the best quality of life for our Sailors and their loved ones during their time here on island. My position allows me to be a safe space for those who need resources and don’t know what’s available to them, and to learn of needs that the command might not otherwise be aware of. I am extremely grateful that spouses and Sailors trust me with their needs and allow me to support them.

A little bit about me: When I have free time, I enjoy hiking, reading, listening to true crime podcasts, snorkeling, exploring new beaches, and sometimes just staying home with my husband our two fur babies. I am currently working on a certification to be a professional dog trainer and hope to use that one day to train service dogs for service members and veterans.

I have been a Navy spouse for almost three years, but grew up in a Navy household as my father flew in the Navy for 14 years. I met my husband at Baylor University and we began our life with the Navy shortly after his graduation. Before we were married, I worked as a Parent Liaison at a Title I school in Texas. My job there was to support the families at our school and find resources that would help them flourish. Once I married my husband and we began our life in the Navy world, I knew I wanted to find another way to serve families.

This position has allowed me to continue my passion for serving others in ways that I could’ve never imagined. I am honored to be a U.S. Navy Ombudsman. Please reach out to me at Ombudsman.nctamspac@gmail.com or call 808-203-0356
