FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa. – More than 250 Soldiers from the 1067th Composite Truck Co., 228th Transportation Battalion, 213th Regional Support Group returned recently from a deployment to the Middle East.

The 272 Soldiers departed Pennsylvania on Nov. 30, 2021, to begin a month of pre-mobilization training at Fort Hood, Texas, before deploying in support of Operation Spartan Shield and Operation Inherent Resolve.

The company was headquartered at Camp Buehring, Kuwait, and had Soldiers dispersed to seven other bases in five countries in U.S. Central Command’s area of responsibility. Their mission was to provide transportation and logistical support throughout CENTCOM’s AOR.

During the deployment, the 1067th CTC successfully completed over 140 transportation movement requests and 290 missions, driving over 400,000 miles in support of multiple units. The company supported the deployment and redeployment of the 295th Alpha Co., 389th Sustainment Brigade among many other units in its area of operation.

The 1067th served as the main transportation asset for the Battalion Ordinance Company, successfully transporting over $1.1 million worth of containers of pro-grade and retrograde ammunition in support of the Theater Support Area and Ammunition Supply Point. The company moved over 28.4 million strategic munitions in support of Task force Grizzly and Task Force Murph.

"I couldn't be prouder of the outstanding job these Soldiers did on this deployment,” said Lt. Col. Michael Siriani, commander of the 228th Transportation Battalion. “Our men and women continue to prove that we are a ready and reliable force ready to serve our communities, our commonwealth and our country, as well as our global partners, either at home or overseas."

The Soldiers began redeploying in late September and demobilized at Fort Hood before returning to their homes.

“I’d like to express my heartfelt thanks to the families and employers of these citizen-Soldiers,” Siriani said. “Without their support, these deployments wouldn’t be possible.”

The 1067th CTC is headquartered in Phoenixville, Pa., and has detachments in Philadelphia and at Fort Indiantown Gap.
