    97th Air Mobility Wing

Airmen from the 97th Air Mobility Wing along with members of the Altus community participated in a dove hunt at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma, Oct. 8, 2022. The dove hunt is held annually in partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation to prevent the bird and wildlife aircraft strike hazard and promote responsible hunting. Altus AFB holds events like these to build morale and promotes conservation. Master Sgt. Andrew Hayden, 97th Civil Engineer Squadron requirements and optimization section chief, hunting not only helps to regulate overpopulation, but license and equipment sales help fund wildlife conservation.
