GOWEN FIELD, Id. – The 124th Fighter Wing is hosting the 62nd Airlift Wing out of Joint Base Lewis-McChordand and the 366th Fighter Wing from Mountain Home Air Force Base as they conduct integrated combat turns at Gowen Field the week of Oct. 18-21, 2022.
C-17 Globemaster IIIs from the 62nd AW and F-15E Strike Eagles from the 366th FW will work in tandem to recover and launch multiple aircraft in a remote location, as they would in a deployed environment.
“Our premiere ramp space is just another example of the great relationship we have built and maintained with the city and airport,” said Col. Chad Kornberg, 124th Fighter Wing commander. “We are happy to be supporting the overall effort to define ACE capability within the USAF. Whether it’s here on Gowen Field or at the Orchard Combat Training Center, the Idaho Air National Guard and National Guard continue to provide our neighboring units with state-of-the-art, mission-essential training facilities.”
While these operations should cause minimal disturbances, their presence here highlights Gowen Field’s position and opportunity in the region's military training operations.
