FORT BRAGG, N.C. - In the month of November, not only do we celebrate Thanksgiving, but also the Month of the Military Family. This month is a reminder to thank our Families and service members for the tremendous sacrifices they make.
Our Families remain resilient, strong and courageous through separations, frequent moves, and here especially, rapid deployments.
It is our duty as the garrison to make sure we are supporting our service members and Families so they can maintain a high quality of life through these challenges.
A big part of that is providing quality and affordable housing on the installation. To do this right, we need to hear from our residents to help guide plans for improvements, resident services, and community amenities. A great, and confidential way to do this, is through the fiscal year 2023 Army Housing Tenant Satisfaction Survey which launched at the end of October. Make sure to fill out your survey to help make our community better.
As we move into the holiday season, I am reminded of how incredibly thankful I am for the opportunity to serve this great community here at Fort Bragg. We are a community that bands together and helps take care of neighbors when they are in need.
A great example of this is the Holiday Hearts Program. Through this program, E4 Families and below with verified financial needs and E5 Families and above with an Army Emergency Relief referral, may submit an application to Army Community Service for gifts for the upcoming holidays. Applications are due Nov. 18, and the tree displaying these requests will become available the week of Nov. 21 for community members who wish to help. This is truly a great opportunity to give back during this special time of year.
Thank you to our service members, their Families, our veterans, our retirees and our civilians for all that you do to make this a community of excellence. I hope everyone has a great start to the holiday season and can take advantage of some of the fantastic upcoming events and programs.
