CAMP HUMPHREYS, Republic of Korea -- The United States Army Garrison Humphreys command team sat down with garrison leaders to discuss community concerns during the monthly Command Community Information Exchange at the Morning Calm Center, Nov 2.
Command Community Information Exchange provides two-way communication between leaders to produce both feedback and after action reviews to ensure issues are identified and addressed.
Command Sergeant Major Benjamin Lemon, senior enlisted advisor of USAG Humphreys, said the monthly CCIE is a healthy way for community partners to distribute important information to the garrison’s command team and Humphreys leaders. The meetings help enhance the relationship between the civilian community and service members through communication.
The CCIE also supports the cultural and community events happening on Camp Humphreys. The Soldier Family Readiness Group (which provides information to military members, Department of Defense personnel, and their family members) is one of the internal strategic entities involved in the CCIE. Members of SRFGs are able to attend which allows personnel and families stationed at Camp Humphreys to learn about cultural events, general community, health and welfare activities.
Lemon said CCIE on Camp Humphreys benefits from having a three-star headquarters located on the installation.
“The 8th Army commanding general attends our CCIE even though he is in charge of all the Army installations in the Republic of Korea”, said Lemon.
As a result of the senior leader's presence, information and solutions are addressed faster than a quarterly town hall. An issue regarding the lack of a traffic light at Yoon Gate was addressed at a CCIE, and a week and a half later was installed increasing safety for residents and guests of Camp Humphreys.
The next CCIE will take place on Dec. 7 at the Morning Calm Center.
