    Billings, Mont. – The Montana Army National Guard will hold a change of command ceremony on Sunday, November 6th as Lt. Col. Sean Joyce relinquishes command of the 190th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion to Lt. Col. Mark Juntunen. The ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. at the Billings Armed Forces Reserve Center at 2915 Gabel Road in Billings.

    Joyce joined the Montana Army National Guard in 1998 as a Bradley Fighting Vehicle driver with B Co. 1-163rd Combined Arms Battalion. He was commissioned through the state officer candidate school program in 2001. He has mobilized on federal missions twice: as a platoon leader to Fort Bliss, Texas in 2006 and as an officer in charge for 190th Forward Combat Support Headquarters Company to Afghanistan in 2015. Joyce has served as the battalion commander for the past two years

    Joyce is a traditional Guardsman and teaches high school math full-time at Billings Skyview High School. He lives in Billings with his wife, Sabrina, and has three adult children and one grandchild.

    Juntunen joined the US Army in 1999 as a United States Military Academy, West Point cadet and was commissioned in 2003 as an armor officer and was assigned to the 3rd Armored Calvary Regiment in Fort Carson Colorado. He has deployed in support for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004, 2005, and 2007.

    He joined the Montana Army National Guard in July 2008 and deployed in support of Operation Spartan Shield in 2020.

    Juntunen is a traditional Guardsman and lives in Huntley with his wife, Nadine, and their five children, Nathan, Isaac, Mychael, Noah, and Elysha. He is employed as the Integrated Primary Prevention Specialist for the Montana National Guard in Billings.

    The 190th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion is a multifunctional logistics unit which able to oversee the full range of support to Army units including distribution and maintenance. As a battalion, the 190th also serves as the higher headquarters for nine Army National Guard units and detachments throughout Montana.
