    451st Expeditionary Sustainment Command

Chicago, IL - Tomika Seaberry, a native of Chicago’s West side, was promoted to Brigadier General in the United States Army Reserve during a ceremony on Dec 3rd. The ceremony was held at the historic Columbus Park Refectory in Chicago, with over 200 family members, friends, and colleagues in attendance.

Maj. Gen. Robert Harter, the presiding officer for the ceremony and Commander of the 81st Readiness Division, praised Seaberry for her incredible reputation among her peers, subordinates, and superiors as a problem solver. “Tomika embodies what it takes to be a senior leader,” said Harter.

With this promotion, Seaberry will assume command of the 4th Expeditionary Sustainment Command in San Antonio, Texas, later this month.

The 4th Expeditionary Sustainment Command is a logistics command responsible for military and logistical support. In 2020 the command was mobilized to support the federal response to COVID-19.
Brig. Gen. Seaberry enters her new role with a wealth of knowledge and experience gained after more than 20 years of service. She graduated from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and was commissioned through the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) as a transportation officer. She holds a Master of Arts from Grantham University and a Master of Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College.

Her previous assignments include being an Assistant Professor of Military Science at Jackson State University, the Support Operations Officer for the 1st Theater Sustainment Command-Operational Command Post in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, and the Commander of the United States Army Garrison Fort Buchanan in Puerto Rico.

Seaberry was administered the oath of office by Lt. Gen. (Retired) Gwendolyn Bingham. Seaberry's general officer cap, general officer belt, M18 General Officer's pistol, and crimson one-star flag were presented by family members.

Following the presentation of her general officer accoutrements, Brig. Gen. Seaberry spoke to a crowd of family, friends, and service members. During her remarks, Seaberry thanked her mother for teaching her hard work and kindness. She also thanked Lt. Gen. Jody Daniels, the Chief of the Army Reserve and Commander of the United States Army Reserve Command, for the trust she bestowed on her with the new role.

Seaberry closed her remarks by saying, “I stand before as a proud mother, a proud woman, a proud friend, a proud Christian, and as Brigadier General Tomika Seaberry.”
