JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. - The 446th Security Forces Squadron welcomed a new commander here Dec. 4, 2022.
Maj. Andrew Geer became the commander of the squadron during an assumption of command ceremony.
“I just look forward to leading, I look forward to watching people grow, develop, become better Airmen, and become better leaders.” said Geer. "What makes me happy is seeing people start out how they start out and then progressing and developing into more.”
Geer said the goals right now are making the squadron maintains trained and ready Airmen.
Geer is no stranger to- the security forces mission. Prior to becoming the commander of the 446 SFS, Geer served in key security forces leadership positions at several duty locations, including flight commander, s-4 officer, and operations officer.
Military police in the Air Force Reserve are called Security Forces Specialists. With job tasks ranging from writing traffic tickets to dealing with situations requiring deadly force, these highly trained specialists must possess a variety of skills and be adaptable to all circumstances. Their ability to communicate must be equal to their investigative, weapons and physical capabilities.
