Flying with the Crows: Capt. Alexander Babos

    UNITED STATES

    07.29.2022

    Story by Airman Christian Corley

    33rd Fighter Wing

Meet Capt. Alexander Babos, a flight commander and F-35A Lightning II instructor pilot with the 60th Fighter Squadron, 33rd Fighter Wing. He hails from Eagle River, Alaska, and joined the Air Force in 2014.

“Becoming a pilot was not always my main goal,” said Babos. “It was always in the back of my mind, but it wasn't until I saw the Buckley Air National Guard F-16s do a flyover my freshman year of college that I really got focused and determined to become a fighter pilot.”

Babos has many responsibilities as a flight commander.

“Day-to-day responsibilities involve planning, briefing, executing and debriefing F-35 missions with a deliberate focus on training the next generation of F-35 pilots,” said Babos. “I have a direct role in making sure each student accomplishes what they need in order to get to the Combat Air Force as the most lethal and ready to win Panther Pilots.”

Outside of work, Babos likes to spend time outdoors with his wife and two kids.
