The newly renovated Cherry Point Public House, a Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) facility, celebrated its official grand opening, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, Jan. 26,
2023. Using the location of the former bowling alley, MCCS worked to create an on-base community with a modern, multi-purpose environment for personnel to enjoy and build comradery. The opening means the Roadhouse, located across the street, has been permanently closed.
The night included food tastings from the Public House’s onsite restaurant, Simple Pie, and performances by DJ Big Mike, and bands Plush and Head On Collision. In addition, the event boasted a
free gaming event and showcased free pub games.
“I think the new facility looks amazing,” said U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Desiree Blanch, a supply chain and materiel management specialist with Marine Wing Communications Squadron 28. “The improvements are an upgrade and I think my friends and I will make good memories here.”
The facility now includes an arcade, gaming arena, darts, pool tables, a training room, theater, and a self-serve tap bar. The Public House will be open 11-12 a.m., Monday-Sunday.
