Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point and 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing personnel welcomed members of American Legion Post 539 of New Bern for a visit to the air station, Feb. 13, 2023. The tour was an opportunity for Legion members to learn about various assets on the installation and Cherry Point’s community impact. The group arrived in time for a special presentation of morning colors with the 2nd MAW Band, followed by an operational overview of Cherry Point. The day also included a tour with stops for demonstrations by the military working dog unit and Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF), and the Air Traffic Control Tower and its Radar room.
