The enticing smell of a whole roasted pig and all the fixings filled the air, welcoming U.S. Marines and Sailors, and their families to the Pig Pickin’ at Hancock Lodge, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina, March 21, 2023. Havelock Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee (MAC) hosted the feast, its semi-annual event to thank service members for their contributions to the local community. The affair that provides service members and families a meal and a good time is another opportunity that strengthens relationships among the air station’s tenants and the surrounding community.
