The Havelock Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee recognized U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Elvira Iribe, an administrative specialist assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, as its Service Person of the Quarter at the Hancock Lodge, MCAS Cherry Point, April 26, 2023.
Iribe, a native of Maricopa, Arizona, was recognized for her volunteer work in the local community and Habitat for Humanity, and for participation in base cleanups. In total, Iribe has more than 20 volunteer hours on and off MCAS Cherry Point.
“She feels rewarded for helping others,” said Staff Sgt. Gerald Burdine, Iribe’s staff non-commissioned officer in charge. “Cpl. Iribe truly is committed to living a life for others.”
