The Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA) board accredited the U.S. Navy's Law Enforcement Specialist (LES) "C" School on May 11. This achievement culminates months of preparation, planning, and extensive review to ensure the training complies with federal law enforcement criteria.
The LES "C" School, taught at Naval Technical Training Center Lackland, encompasses 30 days or 240 hours of journeyman-level instruction. The training provides U.S. Navy Master-at-Arms personnel with the knowledge and skill sets to execute law enforcement duties for shore-based and afloat units.
“Accreditation enhances public confidence in integrity, professionalism, and accountability, provides assurance that an academy or program has voluntarily submitted to a self-regulation process, and demonstrates compliance with a set of standards established by the law enforcement community," according to FLETA’s website.
The Center for Security Forces provides specialized training to more than 20,000 students annually. It has 14 training locations across the United States and worldwide, carrying the motto: "Where Training Breeds Confidence."
