Culinary Specialist Seaman Recruit Foronda was born in Zambales, Philippines on February 2nd, 2002. He moved to Japan at age 15 and then to Las Vegas, Nevada at age 17. With his family having a military background, he traveled often to Subic Bay as a kid. He fell in love with the Navy Ships and the sailor uniforms hoping to one day join the Navy. With the support of his family, CSSR Foronda joined the Navy in October 2022 and decided to become a Culinary Specialist due to his love for cooking and experimentation with food.
Foronda checked in to mighty USS Shoup March 2023 and has already hit the ground running! Quickly recognized for his hard work, dedication to service and positive attitude by his leadership and peers. He is currently working on his Damage Control qualifications and plans to make the Navy a career.
