FORT CARSON, COLO – 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) with the assistance of The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), hosted a Technological Exposition at the 10th SFG(A) compound in Fort Carson on April 27, 2023. The DLA worked with the equipment distributor, Atlantic Diving Supply (ADS INC.) to coordinate the exposition of the equipment showed during the expo.
ADS INC. is a military equipment supplier that provides tactical equipment, procurement, logistics, government contracts, and supply chain solutions. ADS INC. worked in conjunction with the 10th SFG (A) S8 shop (PMO) to have vendors come out and display several capabilities that could be used by Group and United States European Command (EUCOM) as a whole.
The equipment suppliers that were present brought equipment specialized in arctic communications, extreme cold weather clothing, medical training assets, counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS), and mobility.
This expo was organized by retired Chief Warrant Officer Four, Michael Sprouse, current Area Manager for the ADS Special Operations Command team. Sprouse spent 32 years in U.S. Army Special Operations Command.
“Often times, these shows are held in large venues that require travel (i.e., Las Vegas, San Diego, Virginia Beach.) Having the ability to do it in a small venue allows all the Soldiers of 10th SFG (A) the opportunity to experience new tech and save the organization travel costs” said Sprouse.
“The UAS demo was a highlight from the event. We convoyed out to Range 141 and conducted demonstrations of organic 10th SFG (A) equipment as well as new equipment displayed at the show.”
More than a hundred Soldiers and special guests from Special Operations Command North (SOCNORTH) attended this event. This noticeable increase was considered a success by ADS INC., DLA, and 10th SFG (A).
“Last year’s number of attendees was roughly 80 Soldiers, and the weather was rough. This year it’s a perfect day for an event like this and we look forward to next years,” shared Sprouse at the end of the event.
